After following his older sister by attending beauty school, Brian quickly realized he enjoyed the environment in which people came to improve their image. Brian completed the requirements to achieve his license then received his first job in a salon., all before graduating from High School. “I was 18 years old and working behind the chair and loving every minute of it,” says Benoit. Soon after landing that first job , one of Brian’s uncles gave him a camera, and a torrid love affair ensued. “I have always enjoyed photography as an extension of my creative brain. Photography is a great practical art, one in which I can also utilize in my profession.” Because of his love of fashion, the beauty industry, and photography, Benoit has always aligned himself with hair focused companies, whose leaders have taken the same approach. Starting with Toni & Guy, then more recently with Bumble and bumble. Anthony Mascolo is responsible for all the imagery that represents Toni & Guy, both behind the chair and behind the lens. Michael Gordon founded Bumble and Bumble as a stylist, salon owner, and the person who has photographed all the beautiful models that you see in all their campaigns. I love this “in house” approach,” he adds. After browsing this site and visiting the salon, you should know that Brian not only styled a great bit of the hair in all the images, but he has photographed most of them as well.
